The new 2016 BMW Z4 0-60 is essentially unaltered, aside from the sport seats which are no added to the standard equipment list after they were optional for previous edition. In general, though, this car has powerful engine options, quick-folding hardtop, strong brakes, comfortable ride, and excellent visibility and legroom, even for a roadster. Apart from that, the base model is also already fuel efficient. Simply put, if you are a kind of person who nods in agreement whenever you see someone driving a convertible, this upscale roadster is a perfect choice for you.

The retractable hardtop of 2016 BMW Z4 lands more or less squarely in the mid of the roadster continuum, ranging from nimble yet cramped traditional sports car to bigger, grand-touring drop tops with big price tags and big engines. There are three versions corresponding to engine choice when it comes to BMW Z4 2016 model year: sDrive28i, sDrive35i, and sDrive35is. If you notice, the sDrive designation refers to that the engine is paired with the rear-wheel drive system.

The base 2016 BMW Z4 sDrive28i is powered with a 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder under the hood, good for total output of 240 horsepower and torque of 260 pound-feet. The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic with no additional cost. The manual-equipped versions feature an automatic stop-and-start function to turn off the engine as the car is stopped, thus enhancing the fuel efficiency. The sDrive28i can sprint from zero to 60 mph only in 5.8 seconds and is EPA-rated at 26 mph combined with manual and 25 mpg combined with automatic.

On the other hand, the Z4 sDrive35i is powered with a turbo 6-cylinder with 3.0 liters of displacement under the hood. The engine is capable of producing total output of 300 horsepower and torque of 300 pound-feet. For sDrive35i, the engine is only mated with a 7-speed automated manual transmission, which is also known as DCT. The company estimates that the sDrive35i can run from 0 to 60 mph only in 5.0 seconds. The estimated mileage is 20 mpg combined.

The sDrive35is is powered with the more powerful version of the 3.0L turbo 6-cylinder, producing 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet or torque. The only transmission available for the 2016 BMW Z4 sDrive50is is the DCT. The BMW Z4 0-60 for this top of the list also reaches 5.0 seconds flat, with 20 mph combined of EPA fuel economy rating.
